Baby update!

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

A huge congratulations to Sr. Programmer Craig Perkinson and his wife Brenda on the arrival of Aubrielle!!! She arrived on June 2nd at 10 lbs. and 22 inches. Her two brothers Chandler and Carter are most concerned about learning to change diapers and the increased amount of pink around the house. The boys are “adjusting” according to Craig, and he and his wife are sleeping like babies… up and crying every two hours!

In other baby news: Heather Concannon returned from maternity leave on August 3rd. Her bundle of joy, Madison, is now 3 1/2 months old! She is rolling over, eating cereal, and sleeping through the night. She also has a great personality, much like her mom.

No doubt, Heather’s return to work will be a big adjustment for her. So if you need help setting up or using SinglePoint, be sure to give Heather a call, but be prepared to give her some moral support too!

Baby MadisonCongratulations to Heather and Michael Concannon on their arrival of a beautiful baby girl by the name of Madison Marie Concannon.

Madison was born on April 25th weighing in at a healthy 7 lbs 5 ounces.

Aside from the family dogs, this is the first child for the couple and they are absolutely thrilled to be parents.

Don’t worry, a bleary-eyed Heather will be back to Boston Software before you know it!

Baby news!

Monday, February 16th, 2009

HeatherWe’re just under 7 weeks until Heather delivers her bouncing bundle of joy.  Certain body parts are expanding to proportions we didn’t believe humanly possible.  She no longer walks… she kind of waddles.  She has trouble sleeping.  She is only comfortable laying down with a full body pillow. And so… she is going to cut back her hours and take care of herself and baby.  But don’t worry, she will still be available every afternoon to assist agents with SinglePoint support calls.  She is a real trooper.  But please… take pity on her.

Meet our new Operations Manager… John Janek

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Meet John! You’re gonna like this guy.  He’s smart, competent, agreeable, young, curious… and he gets thing done right the first time.  If he doesn’t, he gets really angry and takes it out on himself (never on agents) in bizarre self-mutilation rituals.

Seriously, he is pretty exceptional with a great education (Holy Cross) and resume, which includes running his own business.  He will manage all aspects of Operations including billing, customer relations management, software updates, etc.

John is taking over Operations from Heather Concannon because she… swallowed a balloon and no longer can do the job effectively.  Just take a look –

  Heather: mom-to-be!

OK, not really — Heather’s ballooning belly is the result of yet another pregnancy here at the fertile offices of Boston Software.   (Yes, something must be in the water.)  Heather and her husband are expecting their first baby in April.  As for the office, she is now focusing on SinglePoint.  This is an important part of the future of MA rating and she’s working hard to get all WinRater users plugged into SinglePoint and trained.  Moreover, she and Tonya will be spearheading the SinglePoint real time rating rollout.

Give our offices a call and say hello to John or maybe congrats to Heather!

Insanity

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

This is insanity to the nth degree.  We released the new WinRater and have been rolling it out to agents over the past week - 10 days…

… and our phones haven’t stopped ringing since!  Agents mostly need help installing the new WinRater.  On their network.  On their laptop.  In their home office.  Etc.  There are those quirky technical support questions too that need resolving.  And the fax machine has lit up like a proverbial Christmas tree, as agents are sending us copies of DEC pages and WinRater quotes that don’t match up.

We’re busy 12 or 13 hours a day, seven days a week.  We’re battered and bruised (but not defeated).   Tom and I have lost most of our hair.  Poor Becky developed a facial tick.  Terry has taken to drinking.  Carol sleeps at the office.  Pizza boxes litter the office.  A picture of Nonnie Burnes hangs on the wall — someone drew a mustache and beard on her face with a Sharpie.  It brings us a little bit of joy.

Hope things aren’t as crazy at your agency….
