Making good progress…

I just got an email from Jim Barry, our Project Manager, about the progress we are making on the new WinRater, SinglePoint, and Real Time Rating.  Some of it you might not understand, but it will give you an idea of the level of activity and progress we are making.  Hopefully you’ll find it as interesting and encouraging as I did:

Steve is working on the iterative functions such as driver and vehicle information.
Resolved password requirements with data-transfer partners, the resolution will become the method we will use for all partners.
Test environments are pending with data-transfer partners.
Steve has fixed 5 of the 8 bugs identified during testing, they will be included in the build done this week.
Had discussions and sent documentation to 8 carriers regarding SinglePoint upload. Scheduling follow up calls as we get closer to implementation.

Anurag continues to develop the business requirements and develop the initial design for Real Time Rating.
Auto 2008 - Delivery date for version to be ready for QA testing is Monday 2/18, Agent Beta testing begins 2/25

Rates for 15 of the 19 carriers have been entered - Tom
Testing has been completed on 6 of the 15 - Tom

I think many agents using Winrater are concerned about delivery of the rates into our agency management systems as soon as possible. I see that 2/21/08 is a timeline date for training but am concerned we’ve not heard specifics on that critical matter. We now have 4/08 auto rates available thru company websites and it is incredibly difficult to quote — moving from site to site to get comparisons. I know you are working hard to make this happen but time is running out for all of us. Our April renewals will show up next week.

As a longtime cusotmer, I’m very confident your new product will work great for us!!!

I understand what you are saying Nancy. However, the timeframe we were given by the DOI is really really challenging. Carriers are definitely feeling it too. But we are in pretty good shape. Really. You should have your copy of WinRater in the next couple weeks. You’ll be given training information next week.

Yes, your renewals may back up a little bit, but when put into perspective and considering the amount of work required in such a limited time, your workflow shouldn’t suffer very much. And you’ll be in a pretty good position to rate in the new competitive environment.

Thanks Chuck! Have I told you lately that you’ve always been one of my favorite customers?!
